Dementia Coaching

Caring for or about someone living with dementia can be, and usually is, an ongoing experience. It changes the person you care about in some cases gradually over time and in other cases it can seem drastic and quick. Keeping up with expanding needs, personality changes, and knowing how to appraoch their care with dignity can seem overwhelming, especially when you aren't sure what will be next in terms of care. Learning about dementia, such as "sundowning" and how to approach memory loss, planning for the future by understanding what your options are, and knowing how to cope with caregiver burnout with your ongoing grief can prepare you and support you in your role.

Slowly losing the person you care about can be isolating as talking to children about how you feel and what you are going through can be difficult. Friends might not know how to show up for you or how to listen to you. Sharing your struggles with someone who knows what you are going through and can offer support and strategies might be the relief you need to keep going.

Find out how I can offer the support you need to help you in your dementia role.
